George is a Civil Engineer Science & Technology Program Coordinator, MP Region Department of the Interior, Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Region in Sacramento, California since 1999. He provides leadership in application of numerical tools for impact analysis of climate change on groundwater resources in the Central Valley of California. Prior to this position he was a Senior Staff Engineer at Radian International, Sacramento, California from 1991 to 1999, where he supervised a technical team responsible for design and implementation of a groundwater remediation system at Reese Air Force Base, Texas among other duties.

From 1996 through 1999 he was a Consultant at United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) where he provided advice on use of groundwater resources in water supply and sanitation in South Africa. Through provision of confidential HIV counseling and testing services, the project recruited a cohort of HIV-discordant married couples for a prospective study of the incidence and predictors of heterosexual transmission of HIV.

After his PhD, Dr Makala was appointed Assistant Director for Veterinary Research (Chief Veterinary Research Officer in Zambia) in MAFF, Veterinary Department. In 2000, he was awarded the prestigious Japanese Society for the promotion of Science postdoctoral fellowship at the National Research Center for Protozoan Diseases, Obihiro University in Hokkaido, Japan. Two years later he was appointed Foreign Visiting Professor, Immunology until 2003, when he relocated to the USA to take up a Type 1 Diabetes research appointment in the Center for Biotechnology and Genomic Medicine, Medical College of Georgia (MCG). He is currently an MCG immunologist in the Immunotherapy Center.

His research interest includes Infectious parasites, Infectious and autoimmune disease Immunology, cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying immunological phenomena; regulation of T cell activation by antigen-presenting cells; regulation of immune function by indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) in chronic infectious diseases (Leishmaniasis), inflammation and transplantation biology.

Since then he has taken his weather forecasting crusade from Zambia to New Jersey, USA, Japan, Honolulu, at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) - National Weather Service and now in Guam, where mother nature's fury occurs at its highest levels.

When Frank left Honolulu, Hawaii he moved to the Western Office in Seattle, Washington, and then to the NOAA National Weather Service Office Office in Guam (check the webmaster for NOAA Guam) where the most number of typhoons (Tropical Cyclones/Hurricanes pass every year) and also the most number of Earthquakes occur in this pacific basin. Guam is one of the Marianas islands where the deepest ocean is....The Marianas Trench. By the way Guam is where America's day begin. Guam is the Furthest East you can go as part of USA.

Bunda C. Chibwe is a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles, the lead missionary quorum of Community of Christ. Prior to accepting full-time ministerial responsibilities, Bunda was employed as an elementary school headmaster in the Zaire National Education System. He is a native of Lubunda, Luapula Province, Zambia. He was recognized as the outstanding student of his graduating class.

Dr. Mowa obtained his veterinary degree from the University of Zambia, Lusaka, Zambia, and later got his masters of veterinary medicine and Ph.D. from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Scotland, and Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan, respectively. He then did a postdoctoral fellowship in the department of neurobiology, at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Rootstown, OH, where he was later appointed as a research instructor. Mowa joined the Department of Biology at Appalachian State University as an assistant professor and faculty fellow in July 2005.

His broad research interests involve male and female reproduction, specifically the role of estrogen (plus plant estrogens) in the development of male external genitalia, and mechanisms that underlie the birth process. Ngozi Mwanamwambwa Asinga is the first Principia College graduate ever to be inducted in to the United States Track & Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III Hall of Fame. Asinga, who graduated from Principia in 1993, was one of five athletes inducted May 24, 2006 at the site of the NCAA III Outdoor Championship in Lisle, Illinois.

During her collegiate career, Asinga won seven All-American awards in Track and Field – for finishing first, second, or third nationally in the 100m, 200m, and 400m. She was the champion in the 200m run at the NCAA championship in 1992, and runner-up in both the 100m and 400m.

She went on to represent Zambia in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and had the honor of carrying the Zambian flag during the opening ceremonies. Asinga also competed for Zambia at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta in the 200m.

Dr. Maimbo is a financial sector specialist in the South Asia Region of the World Bank. Since March 2002, he has led the Bank’s work on informal remittance systems. His publications on the subject include a joint IMF– World Bank Occasional paper entitled Informal Funds Transfer Systems: An Analysis of the Informal Hawala System, and a World Bank Working Paper entitled: The Hawaladars of Kabul: A Study of the Hawala System in Afghanistan. Both were published in August 2003. Before joining the World Bank, Maimbo was a senior bank inspector with the Bank of Zambia (1995–97), and briefly an auditor with PriceWaterhouse.

Colin joined the Tax Department of Corbin & Wertz, an accounting, consulting, and financial services firm. Tax Senior at the Firm in 2001. His responsibilities includes conducting tax compliance work for individual and corporate clients.

Prior to joining Corbin & Wertz, he was with Arthur Anderson in Los Angeles, working in their Federal and Business Tax Department, specializing in tax research and preparation of tax returns for partnerships, corporations, individuals and trusts.

Currently, Imakando serves as an elder in the All Nations African Church of San Bernardino, where he spends a good amount of his weekend time visiting needy families in the community. The church forum affords him the privilege to teach the Bible, Preach and lead out in Prayer meetings. He also serves as the sponsor of a San Bernardino based Zambian Singing Group.

Dr. Njapau is currently part of a team of scientists at the U.S. Food and Drug Adminstration's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition who, in conjunction with the Agency's field staff, are entrusted with promoting and protecting the public's health by ensuring that the nation's food supply is safe, sanitory and wholesome. He focuses on naturally occurring toxins including mycotoxins and protein-based toxins.

In Zambia, he worked for the National Council for Scientific Research where he led a team that established the sole National Mycotoxins Laboratory and determined the incidence of aflatoxin contamination of maize and demonstrated the feasibility of indigenous food processing technologies to decrease levels of the foodborne poisons called aflatoxins in contaminated maize and groundnuts.

A mutlidisplainary scientist, he worked on enhancing sugarcane growth rates, increasing raw sugar yield and enhancing the efficiency of raw sugar mills while at the Audobon Sugar Institute, Louisiana State University Agricultural Center, prior to joining the FDA.

He is an internationally recognized expert whose accomplishments include resolving the acute aflatoxicosis outbreak in Eastern Kenya. He has written a lot about mycotoxin contamination of foods. A recent book has edited, Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins, focuses on advances in determination, toxicology, and exposure management of these food contamiants.

Dr. Mundia has taught courses on philosophy of religion, world religions, contemporary religious thought, moral philosophy (ETH 100: Foundations of Knowledge & Ethics at Shaw University since 1996. Before coming to Shaw University, Dr. Mundia worked with FOOD for the POOR, Inc., an International Interdenominational Agency that seeks to alleviate the plight of the poor in Third World Countries—especially in the Caribbean Islands. He has received the WHO’S WHO AMONG AMERICA’S TEACHERS award two years in a row (2003-2004, 2004-2005). His research interests focus on the nature, sources, and suggested solutions to problems of human and animal suffering.

This research interest has led him to actively participate in research programs at Shaw University which deal with problems of healthcare disparities in the USA. He recently served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on two projects sponsored by The Agency for Healthcare Quality Research and housed in the Institute for Health, Social, and Community Research at Shaw University. A manuscript from one of these studies, “Comparing United States vs. International Medical School Graduate Physicians Who Serve African American and White Elderly,” was published January 26, 2007 in the journal, Health Services Research. Another manuscript based on the impact of workforce transitions on the disruption of longitudinal physician-patient relationships (March 20, 2006) was submitted to the journal Medical Care Research and Review.
