After his PhD, Dr Makala was appointed Assistant Director for Veterinary Research (Chief Veterinary Research Officer in Zambia) in MAFF, Veterinary Department. In 2000, he was awarded the prestigious Japanese Society for the promotion of Science postdoctoral fellowship at the National Research Center for Protozoan Diseases, Obihiro University in Hokkaido, Japan. Two years later he was appointed Foreign Visiting Professor, Immunology until 2003, when he relocated to the USA to take up a Type 1 Diabetes research appointment in the Center for Biotechnology and Genomic Medicine, Medical College of Georgia (MCG). He is currently an MCG immunologist in the Immunotherapy Center.

His research interest includes Infectious parasites, Infectious and autoimmune disease Immunology, cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying immunological phenomena; regulation of T cell activation by antigen-presenting cells; regulation of immune function by indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) in chronic infectious diseases (Leishmaniasis), inflammation and transplantation biology.

He got his full time appointment in December 2006. His research work has been published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immununology among others.

Before his election as a general vice president in July 2005, Mwansa was president of the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division. After leaving the DOE he joined the Center for Energy, Environment and Engineering Zambia Limited (CEEEZ) as the Technical Director for Research in Climate Change and Energy Studies. He was also the Project Manager for the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Sponsored study on Climate Change.

Beston later formed a partnership company that was involved in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) in Lusaka. He also worked as a researcher with Robins Consultants before emigrating to the United States in 2002. He now works as the Environmental Engineer for Dart Container Corporation of Pennsylvania in Lancaster with Corporate Headquarters in Michigan. The company is the World's largest privately owned manufacturer of products for the food service industry. He is overall in-charge of ensuring company compliance with both the State and Federal Governments regulations on air quality, hazardous waste management and all environmental issues concerned with industrial production.

Since then he has taken his weather forecasting crusade from Zambia to New Jersey, USA, Japan, Honolulu, at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) - National Weather Service and now in Guam, where mother nature's fury occurs at its highest levels.

When Frank left Honolulu, Hawaii he moved to the Western Office in Seattle, Washington, and then to the NOAA National Weather Service Office Office in Guam (check the webmaster for NOAA Guam) where the most number of typhoons (Tropical Cyclones/Hurricanes pass every year) and also the most number of Earthquakes occur in this pacific basin. Guam is one of the Marianas islands where the deepest ocean is....The Marianas Trench. By the way Guam is where America's day begin. Guam is the Furthest East you can go as part of USA.

Bunda C. Chibwe is a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles, the lead missionary quorum of Community of Christ. He is assigned to the Africa and Haiti Mission Field, which includes Central Africa Mission Center, Haiti Mission Center, Ivory Coast-Liberia Mission Center, Kenya Mission Center, Malawi Mission Center, Nigeria Mission Center, and South Central Africa Mission Center.

Ordained to the Council of Twelve in April 2000, Bunda’s previous assignment was the Africa Mission Field. A full-time minister since 1982, he previously served as president of the Sixth Quorum of Seventy. He also served as the associate Africa Region administrator for Zambia, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and treasurer and president of the Zambia National Church.

Prior to accepting full-time ministerial responsibilities, Bunda was employed as an elementary school headmaster in the Zaire National Education System. He is a native of Lubunda, Luapula Province, Zambia. He was recognized as the outstanding student of his graduating class.

Dr. Mowa obtained his veterinary degree from the University of Zambia, Lusaka, Zambia, and later got his masters of veterinary medicine and Ph.D. from Glasgow University, Glasgow, Scotland, and Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan, respectively. He then did a postdoctoral fellowship in the department of neurobiology, at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Rootstown, OH, where he was later appointed as a research instructor. Mowa joined the Department of Biology at Appalachian State University as an assistant professor and faculty fellow in July 2005.

His broad research interests involve male and female reproduction, specifically the role of estrogen (plus plant estrogens) in the development of male external genitalia, and mechanisms that underlie the birth process. At ASU he has been involved in teaching endocrinology (Hormones in Action) and physiology. Mugala has visited his membership in their homes, revived outreach ministries, fed the community, and the list continues. On the first Sunday of March 2006 the membership took possession of a brand new 37-passenger bus.

"Shomwa Shamapande", who the New York Times called, a politically connected Democrat, and the New York Newsday called him a Democratic political operative, "is a partner and founder of Global Development Partners (GDP). Prior to founding GDP he served as campaign manager for the 2001 Zambian presidential campaign of Dr. Yobert Shamapande and was a director at the public relations firm of Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, where he managed communications strategies for major companies. Among the clients Mr. Shamapande represented was Pfizer."

"Mr. Shamapande was a senior associate with Bill Lynch Associates, where he was a national consultant with the Democratic National Committee and helped develop and implement a crisis communication plan for a $4 billion financial services company. Mr. Shamapande has served as an adviser to the South African Center for Human Rights in Pretoria and as a legislative fellow on Capitol Hill with the office of Congressman Charles Rangel. He is also an adjunct lecturer at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.

Ngozi has an interesting background, combining strong business skills with those of a professional athlete. She is excited about using her personal experiences to bridge the gap between the African Diaspora and the African Continent.

Ngozi Mwanamwambwa Asinga is the first Principia College graduate ever to be inducted in to the United States Track & Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III Hall of Fame. Asinga, who graduated from Principia in 1993, was one of five athletes inducted May 24, 2006 at the site of the NCAA III Outdoor Championship in Lisle, Illinois.

During her collegiate career, Asinga won seven All-American awards in Track and Field – for finishing first, second, or third nationally in the 100m, 200m, and 400m. She was the champion in the 200m run at the NCAA championship in 1992, and runner-up in both the 100m and 400m.

She went on to represent Zambia in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and had the honor of carrying the Zambian flag during the opening ceremonies. Asinga also competed for Zambia at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta in the 200m.

Ngozi says, "I go home to Zambia at least once a year with the kids, to touch base with the family."

Rohit, a son of educators, is a self-taught filmmaker who has had long interest in arts. He credits this interest to his family members. Everyone put forth the importance of a balance of creativity and education, and he carried this mantra to adulthood. his hard work gained the trust for the South Asian magazines (where he is now a regular) LITTLE INDIA and ANOKIVIBE and wrote a few screenplays, one of which was with Gotham Chopra. As a film-maker, he has directed 3 short films, 2 of which he served as a Director of Photography.

In the professional arena, he worked for a big 4 accounting firm in Charlotte, NC, but felt empty and frustrated with the corporate atmosphere; he left everything and moved to Los Angeles to pursue film-making and writing and hopes to continue doing so on a full time basis.

Milimo is also the current Chairman of the Society of Zambians in the USA Executive Committee, a group that usually meets at the Zambian Embassy in Washington, DC. Dr. Maimbo is a financial sector specialist in the South Asia Region of the World Bank. Since March 2002, he has led the Bank’s work on informal remittance systems. His publications on the subject include a joint IMF– World Bank Occasional paper entitled Informal Funds Transfer Systems: An Analysis of the Informal Hawala System, and a World Bank Working Paper entitled: The Hawaladars of Kabul: A Study of the Hawala System in Afghanistan. Both were published in August 2003. Before joining the World Bank, Maimbo was a senior bank inspector with the Bank of Zambia (1995–97), and briefly an auditor with PriceWaterhouse.

Before coming to Shaw University, Dr. Mundia worked with FOOD for the POOR, Inc., an International Interdenominational Agency that seeks to alleviate the plight of the poor in Third World Countries—especially in the Caribbean Islands. He has received the WHO’S WHO AMONG AMERICA’S TEACHERS award two years in a row (2003-2004, 2004-2005).
