Charles became the Executive Director at TransAfrica Ventures, a company involved in private equity investments in a broad range of industries in Southern Africa, in February 2010. He previous was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Wesizwe Platinum Ltd, which is listed on JSE with Market Cap of R5bn from November 2006 till February 2010 where he reported directly to the Corporation's Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Before joining Wesizwe Platinum, he was the Managing Director of Metallon Armenia (Eastern Europe) in 2006. In 2005, he was the Group Manager -Mining at Metallon Gold.

In 2004 to June 2005 he worked as an Associate Analyst - Project Finance (Mining & Minerals) at Rand Merchant Bank where he did technical and financial risk analysis of mining and mineral projects worldwide.

He also worked as Senior Projects Mining Engineer at Sandvik Mining and Construction, South Africa from 2000 to 2003. Prior this this he was at SAMANCOR, Western Chrome Mines, South Africa as Projects Mining Engineer (Mining), and as Section Manager, Elandsdrift Section managing s production section of a mine.

David became the Student and Academic Dean at the Ministry Training Center in January 2006. His work includes School management and administration, Lecturing, Assessments and grading, Recruitment and Training, Accounts and Financial administration and updating the manual cash book. He has also been serving as a Youth Pastor at Discipleship Ministries since 2002 where he offers Peer Education and Life Orientation training. He also organizes camp meetings and seminars and Youth Training programs. From April 1997 to December 2002 he served as Pastor of Agape Gospel Church. He also worked as a General Worker at Wayside Garage from 1997 to 2000. His work included Panel beating and Auto body maintenance, Debt collection and mechanical duties.

Sam,is the Manager of the Media Programme at the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA), an organisation that funds Media Development in 12 countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). since 2002.

Prior to joining OSISA, he was the Director for Training at Nordic-SADC Journalism Centre (NSJ Centre) based in Maputo, Mozambique from 1996 through 2002. He was responsible for the management of the SADC-region wide media skills upgrading programme for journalists in the 12 countries of the Southern African Development Community. Before that he was the Deputy Director (Training) at the NSJ Centre from 1993 to 1996.

Dr. Phiri's illustrious career in Journalism includes holding positions at the Times of Zambia as Political and Diplomatic Correspondent in Lusaka from 1991 to 1993 where he specialized in reporting and commentary on political issues; Senior Features Writer from 1987 to 1991; Sub Editor based in Ndola (1985 - 1987) and Senior Sports Reporter (1983 - 1985) on the Copperbelt. However, his career started off as an untrained journalist at the Church-owned National Mirror Newspaper where he worked as Senior Reporter from 1981 to 1983. Dr. Banda taught English language and literature in English at a high school in Kabwe, Zambia after graduation in 1984. He was Head of department from 1985 to 1989 when he left. Dr. Kalula, who has been teaching Employement Law and Social Secutity at UCT since 2002, is also the Director of the Institute of Development and Labour Law at HRI in Switzerland. He is a specialist in International and Comparative Labor Law, Social Security, and an expert on SADC jurisdictions. He is a member of the Arbitration and Mediation Panels of IMSSA. He is also a member of the new Conditions of Employment Commission, established under the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997. He teaches all labor law courses in the Faculty of Law at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

He is also Chair of the South African Employment Conditions Commission. His academic and research interests are in international and comparative labor law, social security and occupational health and safety.

Dr. Kaniki joined the National Research Foundation in November 2002 from the University of Natal, where he was Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics). He went on to teach library and information science at the University of Zambia, before returning to the USA for his PhD. He taught for two more years at UNZA before joining the University of Natal. “South Africans cannot efficiently create new knowledge if we do not know what is available out there. I therefore see the NRF’s role at one level as facilitator of the pool of resources, identifying the existing knowledge and gaps, while sharing andeffectively using that knowledge both internally and externally,” said Dr. Kaniki.

Dr. Mijere taught at the University of Zambia from 1985-90, before moving to take a post as senior lecturer at the University of Transkei in South Africa. In 1994 he was promoted to Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology. This university is located in the poor rural area of Eastern Cape Province. In 2000 the government tried to close the University, but organizing and lobbying by a number of constituencies created enough political pressure for the government to reverse their decision. The university has now merged with another institution and as of January 1, 2005, is known as Water Sisulu University of Science and Technology.
